The success story of microfinance enabling women to overcome poverty here has enthused Nepali women to emulate it back home. The Nepali women said they were encouraged by the progress made by Bangladeshi women and said that microfinance could be a tool to improve women's lot in Nepal. “The progress made by Bangladeshi women through microfinance is a perfect example for Nepalis to emulate,” said Bishnu Dahal, a woman from Ilam. Along with Dahal, 24 women from Women Awareness Association, Ilam are in Dhaka to study the dynamics of microfinance.
