Everest bank
Ltd (EBL) has introduced
mobile vehicle banking
service through at Birtamod
branch, Jhapa. Laxman Kumar
Hamal, acting CDO of Jhapa
inaugurated the mobile
vehicle at Birtamod, today.
Through the mobile vehicle,
the branch will provide
various banking facilities
at Bhadrapur, Damak,
Kakadbhitta, and Sanischare.
EBL claims that it is the
first of its kind of service
in the country. “Mobile
banking will be beneficial
to the general public
because it provides service
that are deprived of proper
banking facilities and
subsequently it will make
the general public
economically strong,” Hamal
said. Jaspal Singh Jass,
executive director of the
bank highlighted the branch
and its services during the
inauguration programme.
During the last fiscal year,
EBL has opened three
branches; in Balaju,
Kathmandu, Nepalgunj and
Birtamod in Jhapa. It added
a branch at Baglung in
Bhadra, making 22 branches
in its network and it
currently enjoys the status
of the largest network among
the private sector banks in
the country. Permission has
already been received from
NRB to open a branch at
Gwarko in Lalitpur. The bank
has also received approval
from NRB to open three more
branches outside Kathmandu
valley — one each in
Tulsipur, Pokhara and
Narayanghat
